Every lantern and lampshade begins life in our small Shropshire studio, where real plants are carefully gathered and pressed. Using the traditional cyanotype process, one of the earliest forms of photographic printing. Each design is exposed using sunlight or UV light to capture the delicate silhouettes of ferns, cow parsley and other wild botanicals.
Once developed, rinsed and dried, the fabric is hand-cut and assembled into finished lampshades and lanterns.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike.
Prussian Blue is a husband and wife creative partnership based in Shropshire, created by Jo and Rob as part of Scotford Art. Together they combine traditional handmade cyanotypes with a quiet, considered approach to design.
Every piece is produced in their home studio.
